Step 1: Find the total area in square inches
Measure the width and height of each backsplash section in inches. For a rectangular section, multiply the width by the height. If there are multiple walls or sections, calculate each one separately and add them together.
For example, a single backsplash section that is 48 inches wide and 24 inches high is:
48 inches × 24 inches = 1,152 square inches

Step 2: Convert square inches to square feet

Using the same example:
1,152 square inches ÷ 144 = 8 square feet

Step 3: Allow for cuts and the selected layout
