Before the template: a short Stone checklist

[00:09.020] a homeowner or a contractor, this video

[00:11.420] will help you prepare your job site properly before our measurers arrive,

[00:14.760] which helps us keep your project on schedule.

[00:17.460] Let's get started. All cutouts in plywood

[00:20.780] for sinks or other installations must be

[00:23.700] complete. Important: please save the sink

[00:27.260] templates for visual inspection by Fox

[00:29.440] measurers. No plumbing or fixtures, such

[00:32.700] as faucets, can be installed yet. Ensure there's enough room for faucets and

[00:38.480] fixtures between the sink cutout and the

[00:40.920] backsplash. We need a minimum of five inches

[00:43.660] of stone between the back of the sink and

[00:46.620] the start of the backsplash. At the front

[00:49.540] of the sink, we need a minimum of one inch of plywood

[00:52.420] subtop from the front of the sink to the edge of the

[00:55.480] cabinet. This supports a minimum of three inches of stone.

[00:59.700] Undermount sinks must be routed in place

[01:01.520] and flush to the top of the plywood subtop.

[01:05.880] Sinks must have a quarter inch of movement. Please

[01:10.500] do not glue or permanently set the sink in place.

[01:15.340] Your cabinet alignment must be square and

[01:17.380] level. Countertops will not hide these

[01:19.860] issues, but rather accentuate them.

[01:23.620] Overlay cabinets with three-quarter-inch stone,

[01:26.200] for a total thickness of one and a half inches

[01:28.300] of lamination, must have five-eighths-inch

[01:30.900] plywood set on top of the cabinet frame.

[01:33.540] Frameless cabinets with one-and-three-sixteenths-inch

[01:36.580] or three-quarter-inch stone

[01:38.120] with no lamination must have a plywood subtop

[01:41.500] set flush to the top of the cabinet frame.

[01:55.620] needs to stop at the top of the cabinet

[01:58.200] frame. Ensure the sink itself is set level,

[02:01.220] as many are slightly warped. This home is

[02:05.340] going to have a tile backsplash, but if

[02:07.340] you're going to have a full-height stone

[02:09.060] splash behind your cooktop, the hood must

[02:12.140] be in place to attain proper measurement.

[02:15.420] For kitchens, range appliances must be on

[02:18.500] site for visual inspection by Fox measurers.
